As the creator of Ace It Dog Training, I aim to train HUMANS on how to think like their dog. Setting your dog up for safety and success mostly relies on being able to read body language, subtle cues and, ultimately, understand what your dog is trying to tell you. With 8+ years of experience, and a current shelter volunteer, I have witnessed way too many dogs get returned to shelters for minor behavior issues that could have easily been fixed, had the owner known what to do. My goal is not only to train dogs, but to raise awareness on what is normal and fixable (nearly everything), and what is out of the ordinary in terms of behavior. I am an active member of the rescue community and have adopted two rescues (a Border Collie named Buddy, and my Beagle mix named……you guessed it…Ace!)I will work with you to design a training plan that meets your dogs unique needs; and if I encounter a challenge I am not equipped to fix, I will make a referral. Ace It Dog Training

Ace It Dog Training focuses on educating the HUMANS on how to set their dog for success and safety. As the owner of Ace It, I have experience with: reactivity to people (aka stranger danger), puppy basics such as sit, stay, down, and teaching owners what signs (however subtle) to look for from their dog that may reflect how they are feeling. As a dog mom to a Border Collie and now a Beagle named..you guessed it..Ace, I have a wealth of knowledge to share. I am an active volunteer at the local shelter, and promoter of all things rescue! In 2016 I took a trip to Louisiana to help comfort and care for displaced dogs due to the flooding. That trip was life changing for many reasons and ignited a passion in me to help as many dogs as possible.
Unfortunately, through working at the shelter, I have witnessed many adoption returns. Most of these dogs are returned due to the owners mis-understanding what their dog was trying to tell them. I want to help first time paw parents to ensure no dog is returned to a shelter for reasons that can be fixed with basic training!
